Presents: Trauma & Somatic Experience

 

Presenter Bio: Bríd Keenan MA. MBACP (accred.). has been in independent practice as a Gestalt psychotherapist, trainer and clinical supervisor  since 1995.qualified as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP).  In 2012,  she established Ireland SE - a not for profit training organization and is co-ordinator and a director of the organization.  In 2005Bríd is also trained with Dr.Laurence Heller as a Neuro Affective Relational Model (NARM) Master Class Practitioner.  This is a somatic approach to working with developmental trauma She works throughout Ireland and internationally, has published articles on conflict related trauma and has presented her work to international conferences. She is a founder member of the Belfast Gestalt Institute, is a member of the European Association for Gestalt  is a member of the European Association for Gestalt .

Workshop Outline:  Support an understanding of how trauma impacts the whole person – brain /body connection, emotional responses and in relationship with others to consider how the approach of Somatic Experiencing Trauma resolution informs work with clients. Participants are encouraged to bring aspects of their own life experiences and / or issues from their therapeutic practice. This is important as it supports the orientation of the workshop and support the focus to be on what is most relevant for the participants

CPD certificates will be emailed to participants after attendance at the Workshop.
