The members of the Standards Sub-Committee discussed the necessity of redefining the role and functions of the committee and the following brief was suggested:
The Standards Sub-Committee’s role is to ensure that the professinal standards of the organisation are upheld by ..
Creating a forum for discussion and consideration on relevant issues and dilemmas arising from the Sub-Committees before these issues are brought forward for ratification or consideration by the Executive Committee.
Each of the Sub-Committees are to nominate a representative on to the Standards Sub-Committee. Should that representative be unable to attend a meeting a substitute is to be nominated in their place.
By bringing together all the disparate parts of the organisation the Standards Sub-Committee aims to create greater continuity, increased cohesiveness and enhances communication within the organisation.
The Standards Sub-Committee will meet on a quarterly basis throughout the year.
