Carl Berkeley Memorial Award Information
The Carl Berkeley Memorial Award is open to all those who have made an outstanding contribution to the development of counselling and psychotherapy in Ireland.
Award Criteria Information
The Carl Berkeley Memorial Award aims to honour a person who may meet some, or all, of the following criteria:
- A member who makes an outstanding service contribution to the professions of counselling and psychotherapy, or to the counselling and psychotherapy Community. Service contribution can include development of creative educational or training programs or other novel activities in the advancement of the profession.
- A member who has made outstanding practice contributions to the profession. Practice contributions can include breadth and/or depth of practice activities, innovations in service delivery, contribution to diversity, and/or other meritorious contributions.
- A member who gives significant voluntary time to IACP committee work and / or general counseling and psychotherapy advocacy.
- A member who makes contributions to increasing standards, or awareness of standards, in the professions of counselling and psychotherapy.
Other Information
- The award recipient will receive the Carl Berkeley Award Sculpture for a 12 month period and a €200 National Book Token voucher.
- There are no restrictions on nominees, and self-nominations as well as nominations by others are encouraged.
- No member of the Executive Committee (Board of Directors) will be eligible to receive the award while serving their term.
